FROM THE DOCK OF THE BAY TO THE WATERS OF TYNE!
There are a few important words come to mind when Ashington & District Male Voice Choir is selecting music for its future concerts and events - 'DIVERSE', 'ENJOYABLE', 'POPULAR' and 'VARIETY'!
The Choir was putting 'final touches' to its proposed programmes of local and traditional music for Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024 last night at rehearsal. These included 'Bobby Shafto', 'Dance to ye Daddy', 'Song of Coal' and 'The Waters of Tyne'.
New arrangements of 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' and 'Last of the Summer Wine' were introduced and very popular at the Choir's recent 'Annual Concert'.
Last night, the guys started working on a great arrangement of the famous Otis Redding number, '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay', and this should be popular in the future with audiences.
