Ashington & District Male Voice Choir is always trying to keep their programmes 'fresh' and 'varied'!

They have already introduced new pieces of music to their programme at the Annual Concert in May. With a broad range of songs from coal mining, the musicals, popular, the spirituals and traditional male voice and Tyneside music, they are currently working on Otis Redding's 'Dock of the Bay'.

Thanks to the award of a grant from Ashington Town Council, the Choir is purchasing further new music to keep both audiences and members interested. The new pieces, which will be developed over the next year, will include the Irish folk song, 'Carrickfergus', 'Let It Be' by The Everly Brothers, 'And So It Goes' by Billy Joel, 'We Are The Champions' by Queen, and the sea shanty, 'The Wellerman'.
