It is appropriate that as Ashington & District Male Voice Choir prepare for their performances for visitors from the City of Remscheid tomorrow that they reflect on their German experiences!

The Choir had a strong partnership with The Dahlerbruck Choir from the nearby Municipality of Schalksmuhle. Six joint concerts were held between the Choir and choirs from Germany in Ashington and Schalksmuhle.

Visits were made to Northwest Germany by the guys from #ashington in October 1978, 1982 and 1988. 

Joint concerts were also held at Ashington Methodist Central Hall and the High School in 1978, 1980 and 1985 respectively. The photograph shows the two choirs during the 1985 UK visit.
