Song of the Coal

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir performed a 'Charity Concert' at County Hall in Morpeth, Northumberland on Friday, 3rd November 2023. The 'Song of the Coal' was one of the Choir's coal mining songs which was performed on the evening. Susan Robertson, local soprano, was the guest artist. Ashington & District Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing the performance and sharing this video.

The Colliers Requiem

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir performed a 'Charity Concert' at County Hall in Morpeth, Northumberland on Friday, 3rd November 2023. The Colliers Requiem was taken from the musical 'Fell 'Em Doon', originally performed at The Ashington Festival in October 1994. This is one of a number of songs which the Choir performs about coal mining. Ashington was at one time known as 'the largest coal mining village in the world'. Susan Robertson, local soprano, was guest artist for the evening. Ashington & District Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing this performance and making the video available.

Working Man

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir performed a 'Charity Concert' at County Hall in Morpeth, Northumberland on Friday, 3rd November 2023. The Choir performed the popular, 'Working Man', which is one of a number of songs which they perform about coal mining. Susan Robertson, local soprano, was guest artist and performed the solo on the number. Ashington & District Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing this performance and sharing this video.
