Ashington & District Male Voice Choir is producing a series of musical videos from their performances in the Pit Hill Chapel at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024, which will be published on Facebook and YouTube.

It was written by Derek Hobbs and Mike Kirkup, and first performed at the Ashington Festival in 1994. The performance was appropriate with it being the 40th Anniversary of the Miners' Strike and a week before the Durham Miners' Gala when it will be remembered. Ashington & District Male Voice Choir would like to thank the member of the audience for capturing and sharing this video!

George Blanchflower was the soloist. This collection of songs was appropriate with it being the 40th Anniversary of the Miners' Strike and one week before the Durham Miners' Gala when they will remember the event. Ashington & District Male Voice Choir welcome you to the musical video, 'Song of the Coal - Concert 2'! The Choir performed two concerts in the Pit Hill Chapel at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. This number was the opening song of the second concert set of coal mining arrangements by the Choir. It was very appropriate being the 40th Anniversary of the Coal Mining Strike and a week before it would be remembered at the Durham Miners' Gala.
