Ashington & District Male Voice Choir has a
wide and varied musical repertoire.
The Choir is creating a series of collections to promote the various aspects of the music performed. This section features music within the 'Heritage' repertoire.

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'Bobby Shafto!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The English sea shanty was arranged by Edmund Walters for male voices. The video takes you on a journey to the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Dance to ye Daddy!
Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'Dance to ye Daddy!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The Northumbrian folk song was arranged for the Choir by musical director, Neil Morton. The video takes you on a journey to the Northeast coastline and the River Tyne.
Song of the Coal!
Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded the 'Song of the Coal!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The song was written by Derek Hobbs and Mike Kirkup. The video takes you on a historical journey of coal mining.
Take Me Home!
Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'Take Me Home!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The traditional song was arranged by Edwards and Hand for male voices. It is appropriate that the video takes you on a journey to the City of Cardiff in Wales.

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'The Keel Row!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The Tyneside folk song was arranged by Eric H Thiman for male voices. The video takes you on a journey to the Tall Ships Race on the River Tyne in 1986.
The Water of Tyne!
Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'The Water of Tyne!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The famous Northumbrian folk song was arranged by Michael Neaum for male voices. The video takes you on a journey to the Tall Ships Race on the River Tyne in 2005.
Yard Seam, Bothal High!
Ashington & District Male Voice Choir recorded 'Yard Seam, Bothal High!' at Beamish Museum on Saturday, 6th July 2024. The song was written by Derek Hobbs and Mike Kirkup for the musical, 'Fell 'Em Doon'. The video takes you on a journey to Ashington in Northumberland, which was once known as 'the largest coal mining village in the world!'.
