A Poetic Review of 2024

Concert on 14.12.2024

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir is delighted to share with you a reflective poem about the Choir during 2024:

We sang in Beamish we sang of Joy.

We sang in remembrance in reverence and Cloy.

We sang of the miners, their sacrifice and plight.

And for the Lifeboat Crews that continue the fight

Remembering local heroes was a pleasure and honour.

For our heritage and history remembering is just proper

We sang for charity for those in most need.

Of a helping hand or just a good deed

We sang in rehearsals and at summer school.

To bring the best performance and be no fool

In harmony and fellowship and to enjoy a joke

We even tried to listen whenever Neil spoke.

Our choir is a living thing kept sacred by its members.

Precious and important for many, many Decembers

Just as Christmas comes round fast every year.

We do so love to sing and bring you good Cheer.

Now the concerts are all done and the season is coming to its end.

with next year approaching we plan to grow and make new friend’s

So, if you are lonely or on your own or have a big family.

You will be most welcome to join us in singing in practice and song.

All you need to do is just come along.

On a Thursday Night.

The poem was written by Colin Prow, our Secretary.
