Ashington & District Male Voice Choir was pleased to introduce a learning programme for members during the summer of 2024-2025.
Thanks to support from Ashington Town Council, the Choir was able to run a series of training sessions for all members. On Thursday, 8th August, Ashington & District Male Voice Choir held an 'Open Night for Singers' as part of one of their summer training sessions. At the start of the evening, Councillor Caroline Ball, Civic Head, popped along to present a cheque for a grant award on behalf of Ashington Town Council.
During a series of training sessions across the summer of 2024, many members gave up their annual rehearsal break to come along and develop their appreciation and understanding of musical skills. The sessions were mixed with some 'fun' sing-along moments.
In January 2025, the Choir started working on a new initiative - the formation of a small singing group. 'The Ashtones' is being developed to help the Choir to extend its community outreach and engagement.
Some members are developing their musical skills to work with backing tracks.
