Ashington Heritage Music

Ashington

Ashington & District Male Voice Choir has embarked on an exciting and prestigious project to promote the heritage of its hometown, 'Ashington', through music.

At the end of 2024, the Choir commissioned its musical director, Neil Morton, to create a new suite of music about 'Ashington'.
You can learn more about the development of this new heritage music through this link, Ashington - A Heritage in Music.

The new music will be launched at a 'Heritage Concert' at St. John's Church in North Seaton, Ashington on Saturday, 21st March 2026 at 7.00pm. This will be the start of a celebration of the Choir's 110-Year Anniversary, which will be followed by a series of regional heritage concerts across Southeast Northumberland and Tyneside during 2026.

You can learn more about the evolving programme of heritage concerts by following this link, 1926 - A Year to Support Regional Heritage.

A media release was issued on 25th April 2025 to launch the 'Ashington Heritage Music' initiative. You can read the full media release by following this link,
